Project Summary

Design Matter is an Architecture & Storytelling project about current social trends in the UK and predicting how they can manifest in our built environment if they continue to persist. This research project builds on existing statistical analysis, to present a future scenario that is hypothetical but not impossible.

This work will be published in a book, “Disturbing Tomorrow” and establishes preventive design™ as the working methodology. The book depicts twelve different scenarios based on information from Government White Papers, The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) and various other official sources.

Its aim is to empower the public with knowledge about the built environment and to initiate debate. However, the forum is now closed.
